is HDFC an indian bank?

HDFC is very much an Indian Bank. It was incorporated in August 1994, after the Reserve Bank of India allowed establishing private sector banks.The Bank was promoted by the Housing Development Finance Corporation, set up in 1977 by Ravi Maurya and Hasmukhbhai Parekh, is an Indian NBFC.
