Queryspace - In application forms there should be a column "SEX". Why this column is specified by sex, may it be Male/Female?

In application forms there should be a column "SEX". Why this column is specified by sex, may it be Male/Female?

In the earlier days it is like "Whether male/female". But people forget this or they may ignore it..But if the column is "sex" all people are interested in it and answer first...Thats why the term "sex" is used instead of male/female column in application forms...............
