The solution is, 1st fill 5gal container. Then fill 3gal container from 5gal cont. Then empty 3gal cont. Again fill 3gal cont. using the remaining 2 gal in 5gal cont. Now again fill 5gal cont. Then fill the 3 gal cont. using the 5 gal cont. Now the 3 gal cont. fills (2+1) and the 5 gal cont. becomes 4 gals. (5-1=4).
