Yeah, in the bible, the story of abraham goes that as abraham's wife sarah was incapable of conceiving, abraham begot a son in one of his wife's maids, a woman named hagar.. the son was named ishmael..

<br>now when sarah saw that hagar was pregnant, she was upset with hagar, and hagar ran away from sarah.. god's messenger appeared before hagar and told her that ishmael too was abraham's son and that god had promised abraham that his children will grow like the sand on the beach, and the same will happen to ishmael's.. the messenger also asked hagar to return to sarah..

<br>now this had happened when abraham was 86 years old

<br>when abraham was 99 years old, god revealed to abraham that he will beget a son in his own wife sarah.. abraham did not believe it at that time.. however it so happened as was mentioned to him.. and sarah delivered a son to abraham, and the child was called isahak/issac..

<br>now sarah did not want ishmael to share in abraham's inheritance.. and so hagar was evicted from abraham's house hold.. and hagr and ishmael went on to live in the desert..

<br>now it is this ishmael who was the forefather of all muslims and issac is the forefather of christians.. thus muslims and christians are one blood.. that of abraham.. (though no one anymore seems to care about being one blood.. its more like the blood they care about [:(] )

<br>the ibrahim that muslims refer to and the abraham of christians is the same person.. its just that the egyptian/mesopotamian languages do not have written representations for vowels and so over time the names came to be pronounced in different manners..

And, funny as it seems.. the gods of these two religions, allah of islam and jehovah of christians/jews.. are the same !!!

<br>would anyone believe that, given the kind of "cordial" relationship that the two sides keep towards each other?? |

| All the three Main religions the Jews, The christians and the Muslims are of same GOD. Really the people and the religious heads make the difference. |
