| Frequency is the number of cycles (of a wave) per second. And Phase modulation is the modulation of the phase of a wave. Example - shift the phase by 90 degree or 180 degree. The benefit of it is you can have diferent waves of same frequency which does nt interfere each other. |

Frequency modulation (FM) is a system in which the amplitude of the modulated carrier is kept constant, while its frequency is varied by the modulating signal.
<br>Phase modulation (PM) is a similar system in which the phase of the carrier is varied instead of its frequency as in FM, the amplitude of the carrier remains constant.
